This was my breakfast table this morning. I've got a secret project going on inspired by what I've learned about the incredible schools in Reggio Emilia Italy.
The idea is that children communicate in "100 different languages" and that they become fluent in these languages through exposure to materials when presented with a provocation. The idea is that children are given a self-directed opportunity to make meaning of the world around them through various modes of expression.
I plan to try several new "provocations" over the summer and I'll let you know what I discover.
